It’s our privilege to be able to attend the media preview day of the State Fair of Texas every year and we love bringing our readers as much information we can about what’s new and what’s cool. Well it’s that time of the year once again! Here’s a rundown of what we saw and what you should check out. « back to list
Again, it’s all about trucks for most of the manufacturers here at the State Fair and Ford is here showing off some of their 2015 Super Duty line as well as a sweet 2015 F-150 King Ranch. The new King Ranch demonstrated its parallel parking capabilities for us but its other tech features like a 360 camera and radar guided cruise control that I’m looking forward to the most. Ford has actually packed 10 new tech features that focus on driver assistance and submitted 100 new patents while building the 2015. So besides all the goodies that have already been talked about with the 2015 F-150 it seems Ford is going to have another winner on their hands. We’ll have more about this new truck and how it compares to the current Truck of Texas, the Ram 1500, after our Truck Rodeo event in a few weeks.
The Super Duty was celebrating their 5-millionth truck off the assembly line and it was at the State Fair in a special wrap. Production of the Super Duty line started in 1999 with a truck producing 275-horsepower and 410-lb.ft. of torque through a Triton 6.8-liter V10. Today the Super Duty pushes 385-hp and 405-lb-ft of torque with a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 or you can opt for the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel which pushes 440-hp and 860-lb.ft of torque.
