Ronn Motors Scorpion

Ronn Motor Company has been blending and mixing up the world of exotic performance cars with Eco-friendly fuel solutions with its first car, the Scorpion. When i first heard about this car, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Until i saw the pics first hand. The machine takes exotic and super car to a whole new level. These artist are a publicly traded automotive design company. They only design Eco-friendly, handcrafted automobiles.

There main project lately has been the sleek, yet beautiful design called the Scorpion. This gem will be a mid-engine, hydrogen fuel-injected hybrid. Yes guys a hybrid. We all know most hybrids out there are extremely ugly, but not this one. The Scorpion is based on having the Acura technology with there new aluminum and magnesium V-Tech, Type S V-6 motor. Just alone, this engine pumps out a hardy 300hp. But if you purchase this car with the impressive twin-turbo package, now we’re talking 450hp. You guys ready for a neck injury. With Ronn Motors adding there Hydrogen Fuel-Injection (HFI) the Scorpion will not lose any power to those wheels, but only let you drive longer with a 20-40% mileage increase. To me, that’s sounds like more fun. Plus, its going to have a CO2 emissions at nearly “ZERO”. The Scorpion is being advertised at a base of $175,000 up to $250,000 with a $50,000 deposit.

Lets start off by describing  what kind of facility they have in the works.

The assembly plant will occupy 40,000 square feet of unobstructed space and be outfitted with state of the art equipment. There will be ample space for fabrication, mechanical assembly, body assembly, parts, testing, receiving and every other function necessary for operations.

The location of the new facility has not been disclosed to the public at this time. Geographically, the campus will be located in the Texas Hill Country, not far from the intersection of Hwy 71 and Hwy 281.

Fuel efficient conversions.

I was recently asked by a friend to give them some information on how they could convert their car to a more fuel efficient vehicle or if I’ve seen anyone that has done something like this before.

So here was my response…

I’m not sure what your situation is or what you really want to do, but this is my opinion…  to Convert you car from a regular gas car to a hybrid or an electric car is either going to cost you a LOT of money or you will have to know someone that is REALLY good with cars… If you are looking for a cheap way to get a fuel efficient car there are lots of alternatives. Diesel power is a great option and you can pick up a used diesel VW at a decent price. Another is simply smaller displacement engines. There are 1.6 L and 1.8 L engines out there that will get you over 35mpg. Also you don’t have to sacrifice engine size if you find a care with a good option of a 6 speed gear box. For instance a Corvette with a big V8 and a 6 speed gear box can get better MPG than a hybrid Prius. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtPwnsyGTxw)

There are also ways to convert a diesel car to run on vegetable oil (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QegyXo5u9uI) another nice alternative…

So what I’m trying to say is really find out what you are wanting from your car, fuel wise and image wise, and go from there.
