Hyundai and Genesis Step Up with $150K in Texas Flood Relief for Kerrville and Hill Country
In the wake of devastating floods along the Guadalupe River that have rocked Kerrville and surrounding Hill Country communities, Hyundai and Genesis are bringing more than words—they’re bringing serious help.
On July 15th, the brands announced a combined $150,000 disaster relief effort, including direct donations to relief organizations, extended roadside services, and special financial assistance for Texans affected by the flooding.
“Our hearts go out to all those affected,” said José Muñoz, global CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, emphasizing that the company is committed to supporting Texans through both immediate relief and long-term recovery. Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America, added: “Texas has always welcomed our brands with strength and pride. In return, we are showing up with compassion, action, and meaningful support.”
Who’s Getting Help—and How
Hyundai and Genesis are splitting the $150,000 donation between two organizations:
- $75,000 to the American Red Cross
- $75,000 to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country
These funds are earmarked for emergency response, shelter, and rebuilding efforts specifically within FEMA-declared disaster zones—so the help stays local.
But it doesn’t stop there. Hyundai Capital America is offering hardship relief to customers affected by the floods, and the brands are offering special incentives for flood victims in Kerr County:
- $1,000 off a new 2025 Hyundai
- $2,000 off a new 2025 Genesis
- Extended roadside assistance through September 30, 2025
To qualify, affected owners must provide insurance documentation proving their vehicles were damaged in the floods. The offer runs through January 2, 2026, at participating dealers and must be financed through Hyundai Motor Finance or Genesis Finance.
Why It Matters
This isn’t just a PR play. With Texans across the Hill Country dealing with destroyed homes, flooded vehicles, and disrupted lives, automakers stepping in with targeted help matters—especially in communities far from major metro safety nets.
Hyundai and Genesis are no strangers to Texas. From the automaker’s growing footprint in U.S. manufacturing and R&D to strong sales across the region, the Lone Star State has long been a key market. And now, it’s clear the loyalty goes both ways.
For residents dealing with flood-damaged vehicles, extended roadside needs, or financial stress, this program offers a rare mix of real-world support and corporate empathy. It’s not a fix for everything—but it’s a meaningful start.
We’ll continue to follow relief efforts and highlight how automakers are (or aren’t) supporting Texas communities in times of crisis.
