Tesla parks a Cybertruck at the State Fair of Texas
One of the surprises on the floor at State Fair of Texas media day was a Tesla booth. It sat right next to Jeep’s indoor off-road course, so if you’re looking for it, head there. Tesla had a Cybertruck, a Model Y and a Model 3 on display.
You don’t see Tesla at many auto shows. This is the first time I remember seeing Tesla at the Fair, and we’ve covered this auto show since 2009. So it stood out.
The Cybertruck
Texas is truck country, and around DFW I see a ton of Cybertrucks on the road. Stainless steel panels and hard flat angles still look like nothing else at an auto show, even with a whole building full of trucks around it. Whatever you think of it, you notice it.
The Model Y and Model 3 filled out the stand. Those are the two everyday Teslas, the crossover and the sedan most people picture when they hear the name.
Worth a stop
If you’ve never seen a Cybertruck up close, it’s worth the detour. I’d like to see Tesla come back next year.
The Texas Auto Show runs with the fair through Sunday, Oct. 18 at Fair Park in Dallas, with the buildings open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Check out our full State Fair game plan, Jeep’s electric Recon and indoor off-road course, what Ram brought, the refreshed Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge’s all-V8 Durango and Fiat’s tiny Topolino.
