Toyota’s bright blue trucks stand out at the State Fair

Toyota didn’t hold a press conference at State Fair of Texas media day this year, so I walked the Toyota areas on my own and took pictures. Most of my time went to the outdoor Toyota section, where the trucks and SUVs live.

The blue

The first thing you’ll notice outside is the paint. Toyota had a Sequoia, a Tundra and a 4Runner in a bright blue that really stands out, even in a lot full of trucks.

That bright blue is Wave Maker, Toyota’s TRD Pro color for 2026. Toyota gives the TRD Pro a signature color every year, a tradition that goes back to Inferno in 2015.

If blue isn’t your thing, wait a year. Toyota has already announced yellow for the 2027 TRD Pro, called Honeycomb on the Tundra, Sequoia and Tacoma and Hot Honey on the 4Runner. So it’s blue on the lot now, with yellow on the way.

Team wraps

Toyota always puts college and Dallas-team wraps on some of its vehicles at the Fair, and this year was no different. I shot a couple of them. They’re a fun stop, and if your team is on one, you’ll want a picture with it.

The Land Cruiser still hits

I spent some time with the Land Cruiser again. I’ve driven it and reviewed it, and I still like it a lot. If you’re shopping for one, the Fair is an easy place to climb in and see how it fits you.

The 4Runner has history here too. The fifth-generation 4Runner debuted at the Fair back in 2009.

Inside

I also walked through the indoor Toyota section with the cars and crossovers. It’s a good place to sit in a few and compare them back to back without a salesperson walking up.

Worth a stop

The Texas Auto Show runs with the fair through Sunday, Oct. 18 at Fair Park in Dallas, with the buildings open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Check out our full State Fair game plan, Jeep’s electric Recon and indoor off-road course, what Ram brought, the refreshed Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge’s all-V8 Durango and Fiat’s tiny Topolino.
