Not wanting to leave all of the new construction and/or relocation excitement to Toyota Motor Sales, Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the construction of both a regional parts distribution center and regional training center on commercial acreage within the city of Grapevine, Texas. With increasing sales and the growing population of older Benz models that go with it, the need for efficient warehousing and shipping of replacement parts has never been greater. And, of course, with their replacement is the need for technicians to swap the 1.9TDI mods and other parts; for that, you have a Learning & Performance Center.

The parts distribution facility, covering over 250,000 square feet, is a new addition to Mercedes’ corporate infrastructure, while the training center will relocate from Houston. In the same commercial area Kubota Tractor Corporation is building a new corporate headquarters, making this an exciting time for Grapevine’s economic development and business community.

This follows by but a few months Mercedes’ corporate move from New Jersey to Atlanta, Georgia. And while Mercedes’ executive team attempts to assimilate that, they can be comforted in the knowledge that reliable Tex-Mex – and the occasional glass of grape – is but ten minutes west of D/FW Airport.
