At one point not too long ago Dallas’ NorthPark was little more than a hugely successful, elitist enclave. Those residing in a Park Cities zip code regarded it as their private oasis, while those of us in outlying zip ‘burbs confined ourselves to Dillard’s and Penney’s, and then got-the-h*ll outta there. More recently it’s evolved into something considerably more democratic (small ‘d’). While remaining beautifully detailed and very well-scrubbed, the overall look is more indicative of a growing Dallas than a static – albeit still stupidly expensive – University Park.

With that, NorthPark has always spoken to art, as its founder, Ray Nasher, was a big proponent of not only art but the very public display of same. Some of his collection can be seen in the public spaces of the shopping center, while more is on view at the Nasher Sculpture Center in downtown Dallas. In the not-too-distant future NorthPark’s embrace of art will be further expanded with its first ever ‘Wrapped in Art’ competition, sponsored by Dallas’ Car Wrap City. Car Wrap City Announces the NorthPark Center “Wrapped in Art” Competition

Call for Entries: DFW Art Enthusiasts Invited to Participate.
Contest is a Chance to Win Cash and Other Prizes

DALLAS – July 15, 2016 – Are you a local-DFW, art enthusiast? Have you ever wanted to transform a vehicle with an original, artistic design? Well here’s your chance. Let your imagination run wild! Car Wrap City™, Texas’ premier vehicle wrap company, is proud to announce its first annual “Wrapped in Art” Competition, with title sponsor NorthPark Center. The local art competition aims to showcase the creativity and artistic talents of Dallas-Fort Worth residents of all ages. Between July 18 and August 14, 2016, interested participants may submit an original car wrap design in the form of a drawing, painting or digital image.  Five finalists will be showcased from August 20 through 27, 2016, at NorthPark Center during the NorthPark Auto Show, and on the Car Wrap City Facebook page. Visitors will be invited to visit the Center and the Car Wrap City page to vote for the winner based on number of likes. Following the NorthPark Auto Show, the winner of the competition will be awarded with a $1,000 cash prize, or a complimentary car wrap (up to $2,500 value).

Awards and Categories

The first place winner, judged based on overall design, skill and theme creativity using the templates provided online, will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize or a free car wrap (up to $2,500 value). Based on age and overall wow-factor, the winner will have the chance to be interviewed for a professional graphic designer position with the Car Wrap City team. A first runner-up prize of $250 will be awarded for overall creativity.


  • Five finalist artwork entries will be displayed throughout NorthPark Center from August 20 through August 27, during the NorthPark Auto Show
  • Finalists will receive exposure via Car Wrap City and partners’ websites and social media channels

Contest Theme

Interested artists are encouraged to submit an original car wrap design in the form of a drawing, painting or digital image, using the provided templates on Creativity is encouraged.
