2017 DFW Auto Show: Capital One Overhauls Auto Financing at DFW Auto Show

Spring is the air, and with it comes the scent of a new car’s interior leather and fresh rubber. The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center is hosting the DFW Auto Show thru Sunday, March 26th. And it’s (perhaps) the ultimate opportunity to kick the tires on all available vehicles on the market, under one roof. From compacts to exotics, Alfa Romeo to Volvo and VW, this show has it on display; the only notable absence is Tesla. Activities include green screen photo booths, racing simulators, test drives, and a driving experience in the latest Ram trucks. It’s definitely worth a visit if you enjoy the fun of checking out cars without the (perceived) pressure of a dedicated sales person.

A Motoring Celebrity at the Dallas Auto Show
In 1990, a young designer named Chip Foose sketches a design he calls the Hemisfear; it was a design that would inspire the Plymouth Prowler and later became one of Foose’s most iconic builds. The Foose Hemisfear is on display at the Dallas Auto Show until Sunday. To top it off, Chip Foose himself will be at the auto show on Saturday and Sunday. We were able to speak with Adrienne Janic – AJ from Overhaulin’ – who will also be at the show with Foose. AJ was at the show to help Capital One present its new innovation to make vehicle finance more – user-friendly.

A New Way to Finance Cars
The Capital One program is called Auto Navigator Garage, and is operated by Capital One Bank. The concept is giving customers a way to find their dream car and finance it all within one website. The Auto Navigator allows you to pre-apply for financing. The site runs a soft-inquiry – called a ‘soft pull’ – credit check, which won’t affect your credit score. Once that is done the site has a menu of participating dealerships where you can shop, in detail, for the vehicle you want.

The convenience of this site is that you can see your rates and payments change, depending on the vehicle you choose. You can even “build an offer” to get the price you want. They took the car buying experience and turned it into a website. With your custom offer in hand you can now go to the dealership knowing exactly what you want and what you’re willing to pay. The Auto Navigator is also on mobile devices, in case edits are needed at the dealership. Once you have your Capital One Auto Offer Summary you can then fill out the dealer’s credit application. Doing this will allow the dealership to see your pre-application and match it up to the final offer.
