This weekend, new car shoppers in South Texas have their best opportunity to find those new wheels, as many – if not all – are on display at the 2022 Houston Auto Show, held once again at the NRG Center. This is a great opportunity to check out the newest vehicles from the car makers, without a salesperson looking over your shoulder, asking you to complete a credit app…or his manager throwing your car keys on the roof.
When you consider all the enticing options out there, buying that new car, truck or crossover can be a daunting task. And that’s why spending a few hours on the floor at the Houston Auto Show can help narrow your choices. Make sure you bring the entire family; the kids can check out the back seat to make sure everyone fits, or see if dad can change a diaper on a Sierra’s tailgate – you know, the one he’ll later use as an office. And once you do decide on what type and size of vehicle, then you can spend a little time comparing options and upgrades. That way when you do go to your local dealership you’re square on exactly what you really need, and will have an idea of what to budget for what you think you want.
For instance, have you seen the new Ford Bronco? Well, there is both a two-door and a four-door model on the floor, just waiting for you to try them on. Want to know how the new Bronco compares to the 2022 Jeep Wrangler? Well, then, take a seat in both and see which one works best for you. Now, that’s what I’m talking about.
And all the newest models are on display, including the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra, just named the Truck of Texas by the Texas Auto Writers Association; given all that’s new in the pickup landscape, the Tundra win is significant. Step inside, see how it feels, and then check out all the other pickups on the floor. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon.
Just outside the NRG Center, there’s the opportunity to test drive new cars. And, this year, the Houston Boat Show shares the center. So now, after you’ve decided on that new truck, you take a stroll over and find the perfect boat to tow behind it.
