2023 Lexus GX 460 Luxury — Explore in Luxury
The Lexus GX 460 is a luxury full-size SUV that offers a comfortable and capable ride for drivers and passengers alike. With its powerful V8 engine, rugged body-on-frame design, and standard all-wheel drive, the GX 460 is well-suited for tackling off-road trails and inclement weather.
Lexus brought the GX to market in 2002 and here, twenty years later it’s still only in its 2nd generation. The GX is only offered as a GX 460 but comes in either a Luxury or Premium trim with a base price around $57,000.
Inside, the GX 460 boasts a spacious and refined cabin that is loaded with premium materials and cutting-edge technology. The vehicle’s seats are supportive and comfortable, and provide plenty of legroom for even tall passengers. Up front is a 10.3 inch display sporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GX 460 also comes equipped with a wide array of advanced safety features, such as adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning, which help to keep drivers and their passengers safe on the road.
One of the standout features of the GX 460 is its imposing front grille, which is a signature design element of the Lexus brand. The grille is surrounded by a set of sleek and stylish LED headlights, which provide excellent visibility at night. The GX 460’s exterior also features a set of large, 19-inch alloy wheels, which help to give the vehicle a commanding presence on the road. Taking a look in the rear hatch, the GX offers a good amount of room as long as the 3rd row seats are folded down. With the 3rd row in use, you’ll have less storage than a Corvette with a not very usable 11.6 cu. ft. of cargo volume.
Under the hood, the GX 460 is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 301 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission, which provides smooth and effortless acceleration. The GX 460 also comes equipped with a full-time all-wheel drive system, which provides excellent traction and stability on a variety of road surfaces.
In terms of off-road capabilities, the GX 460 is well-equipped to handle a wide range of terrain. The vehicle’s body-on-frame design, along with its high ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive system, make it capable of tackling rugged trails and steep inclines with ease. The GX 460 also comes equipped with a multi-terrain select system, which allows drivers to choose from different driving modes depending on the type of terrain they are traversing.
Overall, the Lexus GX 460 is a luxurious and capable full-size luxury SUV that offers a comfortable and refined with a more traditional SUV feel. With its powerful engine, rugged design, and advanced safety features, the GX 460 is well-suited for tackling a wide range of driving conditions. I’d definitely recommend the GX although my only reservation if you’re buying it as a 3-row vehicle and still wanting to carry cargo, there could be better options.
