All-New 2025 INFINITI QX80 – A Flagship Reimagined
The 2025 INFINITI QX80 marks a bold new chapter for the brand’s flagship SUV. Fully redesigned from the ground up, this all-new QX80 steps confidently into the modern luxury space with advanced technology, a high-end interior, and a powerful new twin-turbo engine. It’s not just an update — it’s a total rethinking of what a full-size luxury SUV from INFINITI can be. With the new Autograph trim sitting at the top of the range, the QX80 is now more refined, more capable, and more competitive than ever before.
A New Design Identity
Gone are the rounded, traditional lines of the outgoing model. The 2025 QX80 debuts INFINITI’s bold new design language, with a commanding front fascia, upright proportions, sharp lighting signatures, and a grille that communicates presence and luxury. It’s boxier, bolder, and much more in line with today’s premium SUV expectations — while still retaining a uniquely INFINITI identity.
The Autograph trim adds exclusive touches like 22-inch machine-finished wheels, gloss black exterior accents, and a distinct two-tone paint option that makes this full-size SUV stand out even more.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the QX80 moves away from its long-running V8 in favor of a more efficient and powerful twin-turbo V6:
- 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine
- Up to 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque (in Autograph trim)
- 9-speed automatic transmission
- Available rear- or all-wheel drive
Despite the engine downsizing, performance is notably improved, with more torque on tap for towing and highway passing. The ride quality has also been enhanced, thanks in part to an available adaptive air suspension system that adjusts to road conditions and improves ride comfort at all speeds.
Interior and Technology
The interior of the all-new QX80 is a true highlight, especially in Autograph form. Designed with a focus on modern luxury, craftsmanship, and comfort, the cabin includes:
- Two 14.3-inch displays (digital instrument cluster + infotainment)
- Second-row captain’s chairs with massage and ventilation
- Quilted semi-aniline leather upholstery
- Open-pore wood and aluminum accents
- Front-seat massage function
- Power-sliding center console
- Head-up display and digital rearview mirror
- Bang & Olufsen 24-speaker audio system (Autograph exclusive)
- ProPILOT Assist 2.1 with hands-free driving on select highways
One of the standout features is the immersive audio experience, which INFINITI has gone all-in on. The Autograph’s sound system delivers theater-like clarity and depth — something that truly sets it apart in this segment.
Trims and Pricing (Estimated)
The 2025 QX80 is offered in three trims:
- PURE – Starting around $84,000
- SENSORY – Around $95,000
- AUTOGRAPH – Estimated at $110,000+
Pricing will vary depending on configuration and options, but INFINITI is clearly targeting the QX80 to compete with top-tier rivals like the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and Lexus LX.
First Impressions at the Texas Auto Roundup
At this year’s Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Auto Roundup, I had the opportunity to drive the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80 Autograph, and it was easily one of the most impressive vehicles at the event. I’ve driven just about every previous QX80 model over the years, and this new one feels like a completely different — and much more luxurious — experience. The cabin is incredibly refined, the materials are top-tier, and the sound system demo from the INFINITI team genuinely blew me away. There’s so much packed into this SUV that a quick drive at the event only scratched the surface, and I’m definitely hoping to get more time with it soon.
Check out my video review from the event for more of my initial thoughts on the QX80 Autograph and how it’s raising the bar for INFINITI’s flagship. Stay tuned to TXGarage for more first-drive coverage from the 2025 Auto Roundup!
