2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid – No-Nonsense, Great Hybrid Vehicle

This week I drove the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. The Ioniq is one of Hyundai’s most fuel-efficient offerings. You can think of it as Hyundai’s Prius. It’s a dedicated platform for delivering low-emissions and even a zero-emissions powertrain. While the Ioniq shares the same powertrain as the Kia Niro, the Niro is a compact CUV design while the Ioinq is a 5-door compact car design. Of course, if you’re looking for a fuel-efficient SUV Hyundai also has the Kona Electric as well as the Nexo Fuel Cell vehicle. You can also get a Sonata in a Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid configuration.

Powering this compact car is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine pushing 104-horsepower and 109 lb. ft. of torque. This is matched up to a 6-speed ecoShift dual-clutch transmission with a sport mode. Matched up to that is the 32 KW, 43-hp, electric motor with a standard lithium-ion polymer battery at 241-volts. The combined power from the two engines is 139-hp.

I hope you guys enjoy the video. If you did, please leave a thumbs up and consider subscribing. Leave a comment below if you have any questions and as always, thanks for watching.
