2025 Acura RDX – Still Sharp, Still Sporty
Acura’s RDX has long been a go-to option in the compact luxury SUV segment — delivering a solid mix of performance, technology, and value. For 2025, the RDX continues to carry that legacy forward with minimal changes but remains one of the more compelling offerings in a space crowded with options from Lexus, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. If you’re looking for something stylish, fun to drive, and packed with premium features, the RDX is still a strong contender — especially in A-Spec with Advance Package form.
Familiar Styling That Still Works
While the 2025 model year doesn’t bring a full redesign, the RDX still looks fresh thanks to Acura’s sharp and athletic design language. The A-Spec trim adds even more visual punch, with gloss black accents, darkened headlight and taillight housings, unique 20-inch Shark Gray wheels, and a more aggressive overall stance. It’s a clean, modern look that continues to age well.
Powertrain and Driving Experience
Under the hood, all 2025 RDX models are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, producing 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but Acura’s excellent SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system is available — and standard on higher trims like the A-Spec with Advance Package.
The result is a driving experience that leans sporty for the class. The steering is sharp, the power delivery is strong, and the ride strikes a nice balance between comfort and responsiveness. Acura’s adaptive damper system, included with the Advance Package, further enhances the driving dynamics.
Interior Tech and Features
Inside, the RDX brings a premium experience with high-quality materials and a driver-focused layout. The A-Spec with Advance Package is the most feature-rich RDX you can get, and includes:
- ELS Studio 3D® 16-speaker premium audio
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Heated rear seats
- Head-Up Display
- Surround-View Camera System
- 12-way power front seats with memory
- Hands-free power liftgate
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- 10.2-inch HD infotainment display (center console touchpad-controlled)
It also includes all the standard AcuraWatch™ safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, collision mitigation braking, and traffic sign recognition.

First Drive Impressions at the Texas Auto Roundup
I had the opportunity to drive the 2025 Acura RDX A-Spec with Advance Package at the 2025 Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Auto Roundup, held this year at Margaritaville Country Club just north of Houston. While there’s nothing radically new about the RDX this year, it still impresses. The styling continues to turn heads, the tech is polished, and the drive is as sporty as ever — especially with SH-AWD. My only minor gripe remains the slightly tight interior feel, but it’s still a very comfortable and refined place to be.
Check out my video review from the event for my full first-drive impressions, and stay tuned for more quick hits from the Auto Roundup. We’ve got a packed lineup of new vehicles to cover — only at TXGarage.
