The Subaru WRX STi has been around for a while now and it helped start the rally craze in America. Much like the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart we tested a few weeks ago, the STi is dedicated rally car for the road. The all-wheel-drive system found in this Subaru could match almost anything else out there and the 300+ horsepower pushed out of a turbocharged 2.0 liter engine is a thing of beauty. Now the Ralliart is really a detuned version of the Evo and the Evo is closer of a comparison to the STi but seeing as we’ve only driven the new Ralliart we’ll just have to make judgments compared to that.

Much like the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart we tested a few weeks ago, the STi is dedicated rally car for the road. The all-wheel-drive system found in this Subaru could match almost anything else out there and the 300+ horsepower pushed out of a turbocharged 2.5 liter engine is a thing of beauty. Now the Ralliart is really a detuned version of the Evo and the Evo is closer of a comparison to the STi but seeing as we’ve only driven the new Ralliart we’ll just have to make judgments compared to that.
First off, yes the extra horsepower makes a huge difference. I know the Evo is closer in horsepower buy wow, this thing is quick. Having rainy and wet conditions didn’t affect this car putting the power to the ground at all. As a matter of fact we hit our top seed of the day in the STi, you’ll have to hit us up to get the full story there. Everything about this car was spot on and especially for the conditions we drove it in. I loved the clutch and gear changes. I loved the seats and minimalist interior. I loved the feel from the steering wheel and the way it moved down the road. I just loved this car!
