GMC at the 2014 State Fair of Texas
It’s our privilege to be able to attend the media preview day of the State Fair of Texas every year and we love bringing our readers as much information we can about what’s new and what’s cool. Well it’s that time of the year once again! Here’s a rundown of what we saw and what you should check out. « back to list
GMC did take some time to highlight and talk about their all new small truck the 2015 Canyon. This is the segment’s first premium midsized truck and it delivers capability with GMC’s signature refinement. It sure did look sharp too up on the stand outside at the State Fair of Texas. The Canyon offers a 200-hp 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine for its base model and a 305-hp 3.6-liter V6. We can’t wait to get some real seat time with this truck and we should get that chance during our Truck Rodeo even coming in a few weeks so stay tuned!
GMC also announced a new Elevation Edition for the Sierra truck line. This double-cab model offers a bold appearance and uplevel content for a much cheaper entry price than the current Denali packages. It will feature premium headlamps with distinctive light-emitting diode and black-painted 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. It will also be equipped with remote keyless entry, LED cargo box lighting, a 4.2-inch Intellilink color audio system, and much more. Your standard engine option is GM’s 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 which delivers 285-hp and 305-lb.ft of torque but you can also opt for the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 giving you 355-hp to play with. Look for this package arriving at dealerships late in 2014.
