CAF Lancaster:
Air Show and Car Show

Contributor Paul Valentine was in Lancaster, TX over the Labor Day weekend, documenting the static airshow hosted by the Commemorative Air Force. The Warbird Digest provided the following overview:

Event attendees had a chance to experience those military aircraft which played a significant role in America’s fight for freedom. Countless books and films tell the tale of how warplanes and those who fought changed the course of history. CAF Warbirds on Parade provided an opportunity to get an up-close look and tour vintage World War II, Korean and Vietnam-era aircraft.

Approximately twenty warbirds comprised the static event, including vintage bombers, fighters, cargo and trainer aircraft. A Hind 24 Soviet gunship, Mil-20 helicopter, Mig 21 and Mig 23, Cobra helicopter, L-29 and L-39s, CJ-6 and the AN-2 Colt were also in attendance. Assorted military vehicles, living history re-enactors, WWII-era demonstrations and dozens of classic cars rounded out the displays, making for an unforgettable day.
