Circuit of the Americas to Host IndyCar in 2019
A TURN TO THE RIGHT – FOLLOWED BY A TURN TO THE LEFT
At long last, Austin’s Circuit of the Americas (COTA) will be hosting its first IndyCar race on March 24th, 2019. This will be the second race of the IndyCar season, which starts in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 10th.
For the city of Austin, this is a double-edged sword. Motorsport enthusiasts will have a chance to see an IndyCar race in their hometown – on their home racetrack. However, anyone who isn’t interested in 200-mph racing will probably dread the increase in traffic an event like this often attracts. Nevertheless, this is a momentous occasion for the still-young Circuits of the Americas, which opened in 2011. Hosting an Indycar race will surely bring more prestigious events like this in the not-too-distant future.
The txGarage staff – including regular Austin and COTA contributor Alan Pease – plan to be there to cover the race, bringing you the latest news with our own signature style. We can’t wait for spring!
